Introducing 3 Fabulous Additions to our Design Team for June

We are super excited to introduce three new members of the growing White Rose Crafts Design Team! We hope you're just as inspired by their talent as we are! Please help us give them a warm, White Rose Crafts welcome!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Debbie Sherman resides in the great state of Wyoming where she spends her time with her chocolate labs, Mojo and Rage (her favorite kind of chocolate) playing fetch and scrap booking her days away. She is married with 1 son and 2 grown daughters. She has 8 grandchildren who are very busy so there's always a photo opportunity. You will be seeing lots of them in her layouts. Debbie also spends time playing with her camera and looking for photo opportunities where ever she can. She loves landscape and sports photography.
Please follow Debbie on social media: Blog, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Pinterest, and YouTube
Donna Coughlin lives in a small town outside of Reading, PA. She is married with 5 children and 10 grandchildren, so she never runs out of pictures for scrapbooking! She is an accountant by day, because something has to pay for her obsession with scrapbook supplies. Her other passions are her grandkids, vacations--she is a certified Disney nut--and she loves antiques, especially old tin items. Her passion for paper crafting started in 1982 when scrapbooking was just taking off. She says, "I wanted a unique way to display our Disney vacation pictures and scrapbooking was the way to go. So I purchased some paper, stickers, some of those wonky decorative scissors and I never looked back! In a few short years I went from a box of supplies and working on my dining room table to remodeling my house so I could have a whole room to scrap in." Besides creating layouts, Donna also dabbles in Project Life layouts, cards, home crafts, and just about anything you can do with paper. She loves trying out new products and techniques.
Laura Wolff is the wife of an agronomist and mother to 3 kiddos living on a farm in middle of nowhere Kansas. Most of the time she loves it, but it isn't that great when shopping for craft supplies! She has been crafting with paper for over 17 years. Laura has scrapbooked traditionally and digitally, made paper crafts, home decor, clothes, and other fun, crafty things. When she isn't crafting away, because let's be honest with 3 kids of various ages she is always busy, she substitute teaches during the school year.
Introducing our final Guest Design Team Member, Dawn Bennett!
Please join me in welcoming our final Guest Design Team Member and the last of our First Term DT, Dawn Bennett!
Dawn was born in Maryland, but now calls York, Pennsylvania home. She is the doting wife of 24 years to a retired Navy Chief and mother to 3 grown children.
Dawn's crafty journey began with scrapbooking, but she isnow totally addicted to cardmaking. She is proud to be Copic Marker Certified, and we look forward to seeing how she colors up the many stamp images available at WRC. She is also teaching herself to color using colored pencils and looks forward to honing that craft in her time as a Guest DT!
Dawn loves all things paper & ink, and while we would call her example pieces shabby chic, she loves all styles and to try new techniques. She loves to challenge herself as she spends as many hours as she can in her craft room creating her beautiful artwork.
Introducing New Guest Design Team Member, LeeAnn McKinney!
Please join us in welcoming our very first Guest Design Team Member, LeeAnn McKinney! LeeAnn is a wife, mother and grandmother living in Lakeland Florida, a scant hour from the most magical place on earth, Disney World. Its no wonder that some of that magic has spilled over to her personal life in the form of a yearning for creativity. LeeAnn is blessed to have a husband who not only supports her crafty endeavors, but is her most avid fan, excited to see her new projects as soon as they are completed. Her daughters and their families are often the inspiration for her layouts and card designs.
LeeAnn, a late night crafter--thriving after the distractions of the world have gone to bed for the night--considers her style to be on the Clean and Simple side of things, but enjoys learning new techniques and challenging herself to branch out and expand her repertoire at every opportunity. She also loves using glitter and texture pastes with stencils in her artwork. She also writes a well established and detailed Blog that we look forward to linking to when she writes about her White Rose Crafts projects.
When she isn't at her desk papercrafting, LeeAnn enjoys the great outdoors. She can often be found camping, "mudding" and fishing.
She is also a self proclaimed NASCAR nut--a die hard Jimmie Johnson fan since 2001. She shares a memory, "In 2006 sitting at the Wide World of Sports comples watching the Daytona 50 start up at Disney World, as we did every year...the group of us put our votes in on the opening lap as to who would win the race and who would win the title that year. Well, I said Jimmie while everyone else said someone else and not only did he win his first Daytona 500, but also his first of 5 in a row championships. I was at the races when he won his 4th championship in 2009, and even was able to lean on his car before the race for a photo in the garage." She's a total fangirl! 😉
Please help us support LeeAnn by following her on Facebook, Blog, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
Welcome to the team, LeeAnn!
Thanks for stopping by! Until next time!
Introducing New Design Team Member, EK Gorman!
Please help us welcome the final addition to our first term Full Time Design Team, EK Gorman. Ek is a doting mother to 3 children, living with her loving husband and family dog outside of Washington D.C. in a small Virgina town called Vienna.
EK began her paper crafting journey nearly 2 years ago as a self taught Mixed Media artist.
In her search to find something to keep her creative mind and idle hands busy while waiting for her canvases to dry, she discovered the realm of cardmaking firmly established in the YouTube-verse. From moment one, she found herself enthralled by the concept of creating a tiny piece of art, framed within the confines of a greeting card, and has been hooked ever since.
She believes her background in Mixed media provides her a unique perspective when creating her scenes. Her style is that of a colorist. She uses a variety of color mediums, including Copic markers, colored pencils, watercolors and other water reactive mediums, to create detailed stamped, sketched and colored scenes--treating every card as a miniature work of art.
EK has a firmly established YouTube channel, and we look forward to seeing what sort of video content she will have in store for us when combining her natural eye for card composition and her growing collection of supplies from the White Rose Crafts store.
Please follow and support EK on FacebookInstagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube.
Welcome to the team, EK!
Thanks for stopping by! Until next time!
Introducing New Design Team Member: Kim Cornwell
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the first of our new Design Team Members, Kim Cornwell! Kim resides in Northern New York State. She has been married to her husband for nearly 27 years & is a mother of 3, and a grandmother to 3 little girls. When she's not creating, she works full time as a donut fryer.
Kim began her crafty journey over 15 years ago, working with silk flowers. Over the years, she dabbled in a variety of different crafts, including needlepoint, crochet, quilting, and jewelry making before finding her way to Scrapbooking and eventually Altered Arts and 3D Papercrafts.
Kim says "Boxes are my thing. I love making a box to hold items that I have created."
We're very glad she has found her niche, because look at these gorgeous boxes! We adore her Shabby Chic style and dimensional yumminess!
Kim has been papercrafting steadily for about 4 years and when she gets some serious crafting time, she can finish about 6 projects in a day! That is super  impressive if you ask us! Check out this altered serving tray with a twist! That would take me weeks! 😉
We are super excited to have a member on the team who makes videos & look forward to watching Kim on her YouTube Channel, even if she won't watch her own videos because she doesn't like listening to her own voice. Its okay Kim, I don't like to hear my recorded voice either!
Please follow Kim on Instagram, YouTubePinterest & her personal Blog!
Welcome to the team, Kim!
Thank's for stopping by!
Until next time!
Introducing Design Team Member, Anna-Marie Batz
We would like to introduce our second founding Design Team member, Anna-Marie Batz.
Anna-Marie currently resides in Vestal New York. She attended Suny Oneonta and studied to become a registered dietitian. After obtaining her degree, Anna-Marie developed a love of all things creative and crafty. She also loves animals, movies, and making other's lives happier with her creations. She describes herself as a "kitchen table weekend warrior creator" with a huge passion for creating beautiful cards to send to her friends and family. She is blessed to have her very own Director of Creative Development in charge of quality control, her beloved special needs fur baby, Kalley-Cat, who has final approval of all card creations.
Anna-Marie began her stamping and cardmaking journey about 10 years ago when she attended a Stamp Camp with her mother, in Rochester. It was set up in stations and attendees rotated through them round robin style to create different cards at each station. Creating that memory with her mother and having the opportunity to share her creativity and make something special to brighten another's day brought her true happiness. Ever since, she has found that cardmaking brings her a sense of peace and well-being in an otherwise chaotic world.
Over the past year, Anna-Marie was able to share her love of creating cards with her parents as a means of brightening their lives following her father's diagnosis of a rapidly progressing form of ALS. This Cardinal card holds a special place in her heart, being the final card she sent prior to her father losing his battle with the disease in June. Anna-Marie takes comfort in knowing her father looks down on her and share's her mother's pride for this new leap she's taken with her hobby. Anna-Marie continues to share her creations with her mother, sending her paper hugs across the miles to let her know she's always in her heart.
This will be Anna-Marie's first foray onto a Design team. She says, "I am truly excited, honored and humbled to be a part of the Design team." She has been an enthusiastic addition to the team and looks forward to sharing her inspiration projects using the unique, high quality tools, embellishments, stamps and papers available at White Rose Crafts with all of you. She feels as though her life has been enriched by those she has contact with through this mutual love of paper crafting. We know we look forward to seeing what she has in store for you as a design team member!
Thanks For Visiting,
Introducing Our Design Team Captain: Amber MacMurtry
Today we would like to introduce our first design team member, Amber MacMurtry; owner of Doodles Paper Playground.
Amber has been the pioneer member of the White Rose Crafts Design Team, helping Kay Barnes to develop the team guidelines and requirements and offering support and training to the other design team members (and Kay, on occasion) when needed. Amber is a Vermont native since she was 6 months old. She enjoys singing, reading fantasy novels, animated and B rated horror movies and, of course, paper crafting. Amber has been crafting in one form or another since she was a little girl creating dioramas to accompany her book reports for school, but she really began paper crafting in college. She began her journey by starting a scrapbook as a gift for her stepmother following the birth of her baby sister, 18 years her junior, but never really caught the scrapbooking bug--the evidence of which is that unfinished first scrapbook still sitting in her stash today!
Created October 2017 with
Fiskars-Thanks a Latte stamp set
In her mid 20s, Amber went through a divorce and found herself with more personal time than she'd had since college. She decided in the fall of 2009 that she would try to save herself money and make her own Christmas cards to send to friends and family. (Its okay, I'll wait until you stop laughing). 10 weeks and about $200 later, her cards were complete and she was hooked!
Fast forward to 2014.
Amber had continued to create homemade Christmas and Birthday cards for her friends and family
since she caught the bug 5 years earlier, and even attempted to start an Etsy store to sell her designs, unsuccessfully. In September of 2014, her son was born with a birth brain injury due to oxygen deprivation. She was devastated and felt herself slowly descend into an abyss of depression over the next few months. Knowing that paper crafting had been cathartic and therapeutic for her in the past, Amber began using the supplies she had collected over the years and started developing her arsenal of cardmaking techniques. She found that being creative helped her take her mind off of the unknowns of her son's condition and prevented her depression from worsening.
Fast forward again to 2017.
For the past 3 years, Amber has continued to hone her craft adding new supplies and coloring mediums to her tool box and constantly seeking new and interesting techniques to try. She would describe her style as a combination of clean and simple, bright and cheerful and scene builder cards.
In September, she was asked to join her first Design Team. Although it didn't prove to be a good fit, that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Shortly after, she found herself chatting with Kay after she had placed one of several supply orders and they started discussing the possibility of developing a design team to promote the fantastic and affordable products available in the White Rose Crafts LLC shop. Almost as fast as you can say Craft Supplies, the White Rose Design team was born. Over the next few weeks, Kay and Amber added two other talented members to the team and worked on dotting the I's and crossing the T's on the team guidelines and requirements. Amber has become a valuable asset to Kay over the past weeks--encouraging her to expand her product line and social media presence--and together, they have come up with an exciting schedule of events for the next few months. So stay tuned!
