Sea Dreams Card

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here with a fun and quick embossed mermaid card.

I used a Laser Cut Chipboard as my main focal point along
with an inked background to create this card.

Let's get started.

I inked the chipboard mermaid with some Distress oxide in Blueprint sketch. I wanted to emphasis the silhouette but, I didn't want black. I then covered the inked mermaid with Ranger Clear embossing powder and heat set it. I set it aside to cool.

Next, I focused on the background. I used Strathmoore Bristol Smooth cardstock and several
Distress Oxide inks in Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick. To create a sunset. I set it aside to dry while I worked on the sentiment.

For the sentiment - I used a VersaMarker and traced the Cut Apart words from the Mediterranean Dreams Kit.  First, I used the Anti-Static bag and then trace the letters. I covered the letters in Ranger Clear embossing powder and heat set it. I set it aside to cool - while I cleared up my space to create the card.

Now, I gathered all the components of the card. The embossed mermaid, the embossing sentiment, background panel, and a layering panel of dark blue cardstock. I start by adhering the background panel onto the blue cardstock panel. Next, I add both foam and liquid adhesive to the back of the mermaid. I center the mermaid making sure to get some of the sea and sky in her circle.
Then, I fishtail the sentiment banners and add some foam adhesive to the back of them and add them to the card panel.

Finally, I added some Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blend: Tropical
from the Mediterranean Dreams Kit to create a little bluff for the mermaid.
I also added a few by the sentiment.

The card is now complete.

Materials Used:
Scrapberry Cut Apart Topper Sheet 2 Sentiment
Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blend: Tropical
VersaMarker Embossing Pen

Fun Folds Gojuss Cards - White Rose Crafts

Welcome back you Gorjuss humans!
Today I am sharing some fun fold cards that I made with the beautiful Santoro Gorjuss Tweed Craft Card Compendium - Makes 24 Card
The kit is wonderful and you can create lots and lots of cards. I did make a scrapbook layout and you can see that ——–> Here

I made some fun fold cards and I wanted to share how the project came together.

Video tutorial below.
Take two different card bases included in the kit

Make a diagonal cut across the card base. do the same to the second card base.

You should end up with two card bases as seen here.

glue down the two card bases, one on top of the other so that the paper opens as seen above.

I made a quick video tutorial for those who I have confused, LOL!

I then took a diecut also included in the kit and glued it down.

This is what it would look like.

Added a few hearts on the top layer

I used the left over pieces to make a second card. For this card I embellished the inside of the card and kept the front simple by adding a wood frame to it.

July Sketch Challenge with Guest Designer Karen

Hello WRC Fans,

I must confess I am not always very good at following sketches or keeping a CAS design.

I still follow the basic structure but my creativity tends to wonder from the path.  Even though I added more details and embellishments, the oval focal point is on the lower left with a sentiment and a vertical stripe.

The proportions of the design look different as I used a square card base.  So don't feel too confined to follow a sketch challenge exactly.  Allow as much or as little as you need to guide your design while still allowing your originality to soar.

I hope I have relieved some of the pressure you may have been putting on yourself to follow sketches and will join us for this months challenge. All the details can be found HERE.  Thanks for stopping by!
