October Sketch Challenge with Guest Designer Laura

Good morning!
Laura here again with another project for White Rose!

This time I created a layout for the October sketch challenge

Here is the sketch

It was fun creating a layout with a card sketch!

I used the beautiful Craft O'Clock 'My Precious Boy' paper pack

I tucked in some chipboard hearts into my clusters that I simply inked blue

The white roses are from White Rose LLC and the rest are from my stash.

There is still some of time to join in on the fun with this month's sketch.  Make sure you pop over to the WRC Facebook Gallery to submit your project.

Thanks for stopping by!

Some October Sketch Inspiration

As I am sure you know by this point, White Rose Crafts has a monthly sketch challenge.  We are so excited about the October Sketch Challenge and thought we would share a some inspiration to help inspire you.

We just love how Esther paired stamped leaves from the Stampendous Glasswork Leaves stamp set and the Bo Bunny paper pack to create this fall inspired card.

Can you believe that Alison created this Halloween themed card using an Easter stamp set?  Yep, those adorable critters are from the Lawn Fawn Easter Party Stamp set, and we just love how it has been paired with the Kaisercraft Bombay Sunset paper pack and Doodles Paper Playground Trick or Treat Sparkle Blend sequins.

Annie's card is spook-tacular with the combination of the Stampendous Fall Season stamp set and Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Fall Petitie paper pad.

EK's challenge card is so simple, yet so sweet with the use of the Carta Bella Fall Break paper pad, Waffle Flower Boo stamp set, and Doodle's Paper Playground Pumpkin Spice Sparkle Blend Sequin pack.

We really can't wait to see what you create this month for our sketch challenge.  Don't forget to add your project to our Facebook Gallery Album for your chance to win a $15 WRC gift card.

Need more information, all of the details can be found here.

White Rose Crafts August Sketch Challenge with Guest Designer Meghan

White Rose Crafts August Sketch Challenge: You're The Caramel Apple of My Eye

Hi Crafty Friends,

It is Meghan Kennihan and I am SO EXCITED to be Guest Designing for the next two months with White Rose Crafts! That means you will get to see three White Rose Crafts cards from me each month! I'm going to start with the Monthly Sketch Challenge to give you plenty of inspiration to get your card created and enter in the challenge!
This month's optional theme is Back to School so I created this cute little apple themed card using Lawn Fawn's Caramel Apple Stamp.

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: Do you like caramel apples? Do you get the fancy ones with candy and nuts on top or regular?
A: Me? I'm not a big "sweets" person and I hate how the caramel gets stuck in your teeth! I'd rather just eat the apple

I started my card with a red cardstock base, and added a panel with the apple paper. I then used square stitched dies to created the little squares in the sketch above. I used craft paper for the stripe down the left side.

Next, I added the gingham red ribbon, adhered the caramel apples to each square and added the sentiment. I finished my card by giving the caramel on the apples that shiny look with Glossy Accents.

Supplies:
Stitched Square Die
Kraft Paper
Red Cardstock
Apple Pattern Paper

July Sketch Challenge with Guest Designer Karen

Hello WRC Fans,

I must confess I am not always very good at following sketches or keeping a CAS design.

I still follow the basic structure but my creativity tends to wonder from the path.  Even though I added more details and embellishments, the oval focal point is on the lower left with a sentiment and a vertical stripe.

The proportions of the design look different as I used a square card base.  So don't feel too confined to follow a sketch challenge exactly.  Allow as much or as little as you need to guide your design while still allowing your originality to soar.

I hope I have relieved some of the pressure you may have been putting on yourself to follow sketches and will join us for this months challenge. All the details can be found HERE.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Butterflies 6x6" Paper Pad

Timeless Botanical Butterfly Stamp (Kaisercraft)

Magnolia Jane Clear Stamp Set - Only You (Heidi Swapp)

Butterfly Ephemera

Blue Gems

Other Supplies:
chipboard oval
ink pads  (blue / grey / black)
watercolor paints
paint brush
watercolor paper
paper doilie
lace trim
ribbon

Don't forget there is still time to join the Sketch Challenge ending on July 31st and you just might just win a $15 WRC e-gift card. Pop on over to our to the Facebook Gallery and share what you are creating with us.  Create a card, a scrapbook layout, a tag, mix media project, or even a piece of altered art. Just show us how us how you were inspired by the sketch. All the guidelines to participate can be found HERE.

Thanks for visiting!  Happy Crafting!
