Hi everyone, Todays layout is of my son's oldest and youngest child. He just loves his baby sister so much and it is so sweet to see how they interact together and how protective he is of her!
So since this week at White Rose Crafts we are "Getting creative with Critters". This two children are "Sweet as Honey" together and honey made me think of Bees!
With bees I thought it would be great to do a honeycomb patterned layout and this is a great way to smaller paper packs. You get so many designs in one pack and many packs are double sided. The paper in Authentic Bundle (Faith) that I used had patterns on one side and the second side had different shades of whites and beige. So I used 7 different sheet and cut out 2 honeycombs from each. Around the page I put different elements from the Martha Stewart Dimensional Bee stickers.
Coincidently I found an old sticker I had that had Sweet as Honey on it to use as my title! I laid a Dovecraft Paper Doily partially behind the photo. and some other little elements around the title sticker. I also have tons of these little wood hearts and I thought it would make a cute a banner with some black and white twine.
Amber here, taking over the WRC blog tonight to share some more inspiration for "Get Creative with Critters" week!

I have been wanting to make this card since I purchased this absolutely adorable Hello Squeakheart stamp set by Heffy Doodle!
I love these simple images that are perfect to use in clean and simple cards or with Copic drawn background & have nice areas to cut out for cute shakers, like mine--plus, if you know me, you know I can't get enough of cute, punny sentiments!
For this card, I decided I wanted a single layer scene to go with my fussy cut shaker elements. I started by drawing the front of the cage--just 3 lines--lightly with a pencil. I used post-it notes to mask so I could stamp the little mice so they look like they're inside the cage. Then I stamped the cheese, and exercise wheel in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is Copic friendly & colored the images. I used a kraft knife to cut out the bubbles in the cheese and center of the wheel for my shakers. Next I used a pencil and straight edge to sketch out the basic shape of the rest of the cage, then I traced those lines with a water based, fine tip, black pen, before coloring in the rest of the scene & stamping the "Hello Squeakheart" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
To create my shaker boxes, I cut two 4x5.25 inch pieces of self adhesive Fun Foam, adhering the non-sticky sides together with double sided tape. I placed my card front over the fun foam and used a pencil to trace the openings for my shakers. Then I used a sharp kraft knife and non-stick scissors to cut openings, slightly larger than the traced openings. I backed the openings with a Judikins acetate sheet, before adhering my card panel to the shaker foam. I flipped the whole thing over and added some Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends to the shaker openings. I used Flaming Sunset for the cheese and Lilac Luster (out of stock) for the exercise wheel. I backed the cheese with a scrap of yellow cardstock, and the wheel with a scrap of purple, so no bits would escape & then adhered the whole panel to a top folding, A2 landscape card base.
I love to bring the outside of my card to the inside, just a little bit, so I stamped the cheese in Fossilized AmberDistress Oxide ink, used a post it to mask off the opening and stamped a little mousie peeking out with Versafine ClairMorning Mist. Finally I stamped the punny "You are such a Gouda friend" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Check out the huge selection of critter supplies over in the store!
This week at White Rose Crafts LLC we are doing "Lovely Layers and Darling Dimensionals" So I would like to present to you this layout I did using layers of Craft Creations, flowers and stickers. I started with Craft Creations Baby Boy Wording. My next layer I took Craft Creations Blue Baby Plaid and free handed the wavy cut and inked the edges to make them stand out a little. I then took DMV thread and hand sewing a straight border. My next layer is a sheet from Craft Creations UK 8 x 6 Paper Pack: Baby Blue pack. That was hard choosing from so many sheets which sheet to use!
Hey Friends! It's EK from ekgorman designs sneaking in today to let you know it's Saturday!
And because it's Saturday, that means that it is time for a new challenge over at White Rose Crafts. This week we are celebrating 'Lovely Layers and Darling Dimensionals'.
What does that mean? It means we are playing with all those precut Decoupage sheets. If you've never seen the precut Decoupage sheets, it is punch out die cuts that are meant to be layered upon each other to make three dimensional projects. To share two different styles of these layered precut projects I made two different projects.
My first project features the Craft UK Pretty Kitty pre-cut elements sheet, that has three different cats on it. I punched out one of the kitties and assembled it using Woodware Mounting Pads.
Then I pulled out the ScrapBerry's Elegy Paper pack. I wanted this card to have an elegant look about it, despite the fact it took me less than five minutes to make it.
To add a sentiment, I stamped out a sentiment from the Kelly Creates Congratulations stamp pack. I traced over the stamped image with a metallic pen and highlighted it with my white gel pen.
Like I said the whole card took less then five minutes to make, and yet the card has a beautiful grown up elegant look to it.
My second project is from an all in one pack of paper, that has both the decoupage and holiday paper included.
The Dovecraft Polar Bears holiday paper pack, has everything you need to make a quick and yet fun card.
The polar bear and mouse was popped out and layered with the mounting pads. Then I trimmed up the papers and layered the card.
This card took even less time to craft than the kitty card, and is perfect for any last minute cards you need to make.
The really cool thing about these decoupage sheets is that they are really budget friendly! They allow you to create fun projects without the need of a die cutting machine and tons of different dies. And all week (till Friday August 24th) you can get an additional 10% off your purchase from the Card Kits, Die Cuts, Decoupage, & Toppers section of the WRC store using the code: 10 dimensions!
What I did was cut the word TOO CUTE from black cardstock and using the Fuse tool created pockets with Sparkle blends inside, then attached them to the back of each letter. Then taking a different sheet of paper I covered the pockets with Craft Creation 8x6 paper pack - baby blue. The I took the Woodware Shaped Ribbon - Baby boy and draped it across the middle of the layout.
Next the fun part was to embellish the layout. You can see close up how the Sparkle Blends are a great addition to the layout. The little bear below was from Anita's Decoupage Foiled Sheet -Bear Buddies (So cute!) and the Recollections Dimensionsal white flowers I added a little blue into the center by mixing ink and water to dilute it. Adding lace that Amber at White Rose had sent me to the back of the flowers really enhances them. AA few more items like a ribbon, brad and metal sign that I had in my stash completed the layout.
Hope you enjoyed my layout and thanks for stopping by.
It's Saturday so that means it is time for a new Theme Week to start over at White Rose Crafts. This week we are asking How Do You Doodle? We doodle by using brands, especially Heffy Doodle and their fun line of dies and stamps and Doodle Paper Playground and their line of Sparkle Blend Sequin Mixes.
For my project this week, I pulled out both Doodle Brands and created an interactive card. I used the Heffy Doodle die set Congrats and the Beary Big Heart stamp set. I die cut the 'Congrats' Out of the card, putting pack in the missing pieces onto the acetate.
Then I stamped the sweet little bear and gave him a quick color with my copic markers.
I added some shading around the card with some Distress Oxides in Shaded Lilac.
I filled the shaker bits section of my shaker card with the newly released Bubblegum Ice Doodles Paper Playground Limited Edition Sparkle Blends Sequin Mix. I added some extra sequins from the mix all around the card to give it just little more sparkle and shine.
Make sure you share how you doodle all this week over on White Rose Crafts Facebook Gallery. And if you you are in the market for some new Heffy Doodle stamps or dies, you can get 25% off your Heffy Doodle purchase all week long (until Friday August 17th) using the code Heffy25!
This week at White Rose Crafts we have a new theme based on getting the most from your August kit. I had a lot of fun creating this planner spread today. I used a lot of Scrapberry's products from the Zoey and Ziggy's line. I also used the Doodles Paper Playground sparkles blend exclusive to the kit.
I started this spread by using broken china, salty ocean and blueprint sketch distress oxides to create my background. I used the Zoey and Ziggy's adventure embellishment sheets for the elements. I had to leave room for a lot of things going on this week, but I love how it turned out.
For some extra sparkle and fun for a special week, I used these planner pocket pages to make a dashboard of sorts for more fun! I am happy with how they turned out and I will do this again!
I'm sharing my project for our School's Cool promo week a bit late due to internet connectivity problems last week. I'm back online and wanted to share this project with you anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got back to my roots this time, with a one layer card, featuring stamping, masking and Copic coloring.
Like most of the design team, I fell in love with this adorable School Tots stamp set from Woodware UK, but I decided to keep things a little simpler. I chose to do some reverse stamping with the cute crayon image and 3 of the Versafine Clair inks: Chianti, Summertime, and Warm Breeze. Flipping the stamp over to stamp the image in Versafine Onyx Black. Next, I did some very simple masking with a sticky note & stamped a double stack of books with that cute little boy standing on top in Memento Tuxedo Black & went to town with my Copic markers, trying some weird color combinations with my limited color selection to match the Clair ink colors as closely as possible. I added some small details with a white gel pen & stamped the simple "For the best Teacher" sentiment in Onyx Black.
To add a cute touch on the inside, I stamped a few of the accessory images from the stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics.
I hope you enjoyed my project, I'm sorry it's too late to take advantage of the Back to School promo, but this stamp set is still available in limited quantities. We are also promoting the Ocean/Nautical themed August Subscription Kit Add-Ons this week--and offering 10% off the add-ons section of the store, through August 31st 2018.
Hello again Rosies! Its time for another product Highlights post! We've got some cute seasonal items, and some great additions to existing product lines to share with you, this week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After adding the new Craft O'Clock brand to our inventory last month, it quickly became apparent that these beautiful, rustic paper collections were going to be popular. So, what's a crafty store to do, but order the rest of the line! We've added three stunning Christmas collections, a couple of new florals, and even an absolutely adorable cat themed collection, for our customers with feline proclivities!
Its no secret that we've been huge fans of the super versatile Jillibean Soup shaker cards, pouches and coordinating stamps--so we've decided to expand that line by adding a few of the coordinating die sets & a cute Christmas themed stamp set we think would be perfect for bauble & snow globe Christmas cards!
Bo Bunny has always been a great option for beautiful papers and adorable, affordable stamp sets! We've added several trendy and seasonal options to the shop that we just adore!
The Kelly Creates line is fantastic for anyone wanting to learn brush lettering (or wanting to fake it--lol). We've stocked a variety of traceable stamp sets and products form this line, but just had to add these gorgeous, vibrant Dream Pens to the collection. These pens feature two different sized brush nibs for both bold and delicate lettering.
With Halloween almost around the corner, we thought this whimsical Spooky Boo! paper collection from Pebbles by American Crafts was a perfect addition to our spooky options!
Wouldn't these adorable Trick or Treat chipboard elements from My Mind's Eye be perfect with the Spooky Boo! paper? Talk about quick, cute projects!
If you love florals, these large, Christine Adolf stamps are perfect for simple water color designs, or detailed or spotlight coloring with a simple sentiment.
We love these bold, basics from Pink & Main! If your preferred color tastes range either cool or warm, they've got you covered! And really, how stunning are those plaids?
We've added two new seasonal colors to our range of Nuvo drops, with a deep rich purple, called Lilac Whisper & a shimmery golden color called Auburn Pearl.

We hope you've found some inspiration or a new item you'd love to add to your collection--so go on! Get your shopping jammies on!
Hello, this week at White Rose we are celebrating Ships Ahoy and when I think of ships I think of Pirates. Here is my son meeting Captain Hook, "acting" like he was scared but you can see by the expression on his face, he loved it
Hey Everyone! It's EK from ekgorman designs. I am coming into share a little mixed media canvas today with you to kick off a new theme week.
Its time for a the start of a new theme week over at White Rose Crafts. This week we are circling back to the August Subscription kit and making sure you are getting the most of this month's 'Legend of the Sea' vintage kit.
If you missed the news, the new subscription kit is new shipping. Missed what is included in this month's kit...no problem. Here is a link to an unboxing!
Did you know however, each month there is a whole slue of products put on sale that coordinate with your subscription kit. This month you can get 10% off the August Add Ons Using the code The Sea.
This is just a sample of items that I have that are featured this month in the August Add Ons. I used many of these products to create something a little different today that what I usually do.
I thought today I would feature a little of my mixed media skills, the August kit and many of the add ons to make this 6x6x2 inch canvas. My middle kid keeps asking for a fish tank, but since she can't keep her room tidy, this canvas will have to do till she can prove that she is more responsible.
I started with a blank 6x6x2 inch canvas I had laying around and rubbed some Faded Jeans Distress Oxides onto the canvas.
I added over that Blueprint Sketch, Hickory Smoke and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides.
Using some white gesso from my personal stash of stuff, I blended out the distress oxides to make this fun distressed background.
I then pulled out on of the 6x6 inch papers from the August Subscription Kit and tore off all the edges.
Then I tore the paper into strips.
Then using some matte gel from my stash, I adhered the strips of paper over each other, letting them act a little like waves.
Some of the color from the still damp gesso and oxides pushed through, which was perfect because I let the waves of color push over the paper as I adhered it down.
Pulling some seashells from the August Subscription Kit, I adhered them to the bottom of the canvas using some of the Iridescent texture paste.
Using my Tim Holtz small Brayer, I grounded the sides of the canvas with the VersaFine Clair Ink in Warm Breeze. I know it really doesn't look like much, but it really does ground the whole scene.
Using the Find it Trading Amy Design Tropical Fish die set, I die cut the fish and the bubble out of some thick white cardstock. Then I pounced some Cracked Pistachio and Hickory Smoke onto the fish and Blueprint Sketch onto the bubbles.
I felt the die cuts needed a little something more, so I added some embossing ink over the fish and the bubbles and added Ranger Embossing Powder and heat set it.
Finally, I adhered the fish and bubbles to the canvas.
I love how the sequins dip over onto the sides of the canvas with this project.
Thanks for peeking in, and I hope you enjoyed seeing how I pulled this canvas together.
